Look at this Persian beauty. Isn't he a handsome devil? He was the hotel cat and greeter. He kept Dennis and I amused throughout dinner. Of course, we are pretty much suckers!
The typical trail today. It was totally through vineyards and farms. The best thing about the walk was the smells...honeysuckle galore and other flowers that I couldn't identify. It was marvelous. When I wasn't smelling flowers, it was the rich scent of Mother Earth.
Flowers such as these climbing yellow roses.
I walked for several miles through this vineyard. I particularly liked their sign. I saw several of these in the course of about five miles.
Thought this was really cute. Miles and miles of vineyard and farmland make you appreciate seeing something different.
The most primitive St. James that I have seen.
It had started to sprinkle just a little and I thought, I have been here. When it starts to rain you can't stop and eat without getting soaked so you don't eat and then you boink (run out of fuel). I was lucky to find this spot overlooking the tennis court. It wasn't covered so I had to put up with a few drops.
It finally quit sprinkling for a little while by the time I saw this. I love when people set up areas for the walkers. I didn't stop here because I had miles and miles to go.
A French railroad crossing without lights.
Well, that narrows it right down!
This cross was really dramatic with blood dripping down in red.
Even the French love Tupperware. At least in France, you would have good wine at your Tupperware party. Loosen up the purse strings of the attendees.
One of the most beautiful Irises that I have seen.
My walk was supposed to be 21.8 miles. These towns in France often don't give you any indication of where you are. I was coming into a bigger place but I was at only 18 miles so it couldn't be Aire sur l'adore when who walks around the corner but Dennis. I thought he was in the wrong town. If I hadn't seen him I probably would have walked a lot further. That would have really made me mad! My total distance for today was 20.3.
Kisses to you all!
