Auvillar to Lectoure

Bon Soir!  It is exactly 5:00 pm here in Lectoure. And I have made my 20.6 miles journey.  Actually, this was one of the more pleasant days of my trip.  The wind was blowing a gale but I felt relaxed and strong all day.

I saw this cute mural dedicated to hikers and bikers as I was leaving Auvillar.

No doubt about what this sign means.

Check this beauty out! I am normally totally into black and white kitties but I thought this was exceptionally pretty.

Not all of the things grown in this region but some of them.

These were the only two people that I saw hiking all day.

I always love these arched entrances to tiny villages.

The church.

The Altar.  I have not seen one with this lovely ceiling.

A view of the beautiful farmlands.

If you can't see the sign by the garage it says "Albatros".  I certainly get that, living in a 1905 house. It was empty so I am sure there is a story that goes with the sign.

I was so lucky today.  In this village, there was a little stand and they had Coca-Cola Zero.  This is only the second time on this journey that I have taken a break where they had diet coke. And as soon as I left the stand.  I rounded the corner to see a castle.  There was a sign on the door that said private monument.  Hmmmm?

The beautiful flag flying above. I am telling you, this was the windiest day I have ever hiked.

A different chateau/castle.

The scenery today was just beautiful.  It was not mountainous but more large rolling hills.  I saw lots of ponds and lakes like this one. I had lots of road work (time on paved roads) but sometimes I was on trails passing lovely scenes such as this.

And there were beautiful flowers everywhere that I looked.  Some of them smelled really good too.

My only really severe up was (of course) a steep climb up to my destination at the top of a mountain.   At the end of the day when I was pooped. I am so laughing because my hotel is named De Bastard.  It is a lovely old hotel...very elegant, about 100 meters from this sign.  I am laughing even harder because we walk from here to Condom France.

I probably made such good time today because tomorrow Dennis arrives.  It will be so nice to have him here to walk with! And I have missed him. We text back and forth every day but it is not the same.  I have tomorrow off which I really need.

Good night to you all!
