Greetings from Malta. In case you have not figured it out, Malta is a country. No shame; I didn't know it was a country until the past few years.
This is the Titans Fountain, which represents Malta's links with the sea.
Another band and more revelry. Today, there was a big football (soccer for Americans) game, and people were driving around partying. I'm unsure if the band was for the game or Easter.
Look at that incredible blue water.
Valletta FC was playing Marsa FC today in a match that will see the team from the capital crowned champions of the BOV Challenge League. People were driving crazy, beeping horns, and rooting for their team.

We took the fast elevator to the top, where we could take a taxi. Looking at the bottom, you will see a tiny person with a green jacket. He is not small, but you can see how tall this elevator is.
The stock exchange in Malta.
Today started as a disaster. My computer, which I use to write the blogs, would not charge. OMG! Panic time. I put the laptop in my backpack and toted around all day with food, a wool shirt, water, and a bunch of other stuff. After our historical hike, we found this friendly taxi driver, Jason, who took us around the world to find an Apple store. I have never been so happy to spend 90 Euros ($105) for a new cord. I was terrified I was going to need a new computer. Which I wouldn't want to buy until I got home. Thank you, Jesus.
Another Easter Parade. This one came right past our B & B. I loved that the children were a part of it. Cute children!
This float was much lighter than the one last night. For my Catholic friends - are they called floats?
And the marching band.
This is our landlady at the B & B watching the parade.
We ate at the same restaurant again tonight. Tonight, our Amuse-Bouche was a mild liver páte. Devine! Dennis, who swears he doesn't like liver, thought it was terrific.
Dennis had a traditional Maltese item. It was sort of a bread bowl with tuna and all kinds of yummy vegetables baked inside. The tiny bite that he would let me have was sublime. I ordered a Gorgonzola focaccia bread topped with radicchio relish. It looked like a dessert pastry and was incredibly good. I still have two pieces left, which will be eaten for lunch tomorrow.
Although we were stuffed, who could resist going into the pastry shop down the block? We were just going to look. I didn't believe that either. I got just one of these fruit tarts with a creamy custard inside. I don't have a bite left for lunch tomorrow. I considered licking the plate, but I am trying to be a courteous American and show our best side.
Dennis got a chocolate-covered eclair. I got a quick bite of it, and it was equally delicious.
I am caught up on the blog; tomorrow is another day. Much to do before I can drag my tired self to bed.
Good night and God bless
