What a time we have had. OMG!
Our flight to Philly was on time, actually early. So far - so good. When we arrived in Philly, we learned that the flight to Athens had been canceled. CANCELED! No flights were going into Athens from anywhere. That didn't sound good. At least American Airlines paid for a night at the Marriot. After waiting about 20 minutes for the shuttle, we arrived at the wrong Marriot. Another half an hour and we were at the correct Marriot. That might have been user error, but in our defense, it was confusing. I researched why Athens was closed, and it turned out to be a one-day (hopefully) strike at the airport. We had to eat a night's stay in Athens. We are flying to Athens and hope to arrive in time to catch a Ryan Airlines flight to Valletta. If we miss that flight, we lose the price of our Ryan Tickets and will miss the first day of our hike. We are not starting out precisely as planned.
So what can you do but laugh and try to find the sun in the clouds? We are healthy, the beds are soft, dinner is good, and we are together. Say some prayers for us!
