LaSalvetat to Angles 4/18/22

What an absolutely fun day this was - a mere 13.1 miles! It has been hot here for the past week and today it turned cold.  I wore my down jacket all day, even going uphill which is unusual.  And of course, I had plenty of that. Their weather is just like our - if you don't like the it today just wait until tomorrow.  I prefer the cold to hike.

My last look at the Auberge Resse.  As with so many of these French hotels, it was much nicer on the inside than it looks on outside.

The markers in Europe look like this. This marker is telling me to turn left.  Too bad they are not always this clear.

The flowers are starting to bloom.

Today's trek was mostly on trails.

I had several streams to cross, but I managed to end the day with dry feet.  Whoever puts these rocks in place has longer legs that I do.  Of course, that would be just about everyone. Just try leaping from slick one rock to another.

I can tell that I am getting closer to Spain.  I am now seeing lots of these crosses with the shell in the middle - the sign of the Compostela de Santiago.

I passed plenty of grazing territory today.

I am staying at a B & B called Mme Chappelin Chambres.  This chalet is much bigger than it looks.  It is way out in the woolies.

The barn!

These are my most wonderful hosts.  My dinner was so much fun, and I ate with them family style.  They were very friendly, and spoke a little English. Way better than my French.  We had lots of laughs and figured most things out.  The dinner was sumptuous.  We had butternut soup followed by grilled sausages, fried potatoes, and a beautiful fresh salad.  The dinner was finished off with a selection of cheeses.  I was pretty full so I only tried the roquefort.  It was one of the best blue cheese that I have ever had. I turned down the creme caramel - too much food!

I am typing fast because the internet keeps going out and stays off for long periods of time. So excuse any and all mistakes.

So good night and God Bless!
