Bonjour!
I was staying about ten miles from the trail so my hosts gave me a ride back to the church where they picked me up yesterday. This time, the small local Eglise (church) was open. Last night, I realized that I had lost my sunglasses yesterday as I was walking around the village. I said my normal prayers, and added a plea for my sunglasses. I walked about a block, and there they were! Prayer works.
The gates of the village
I loved this mailbox — very clever.
Lots of small streams todday. I heard the cry of the cuckoo bird almost all day. I think maybe he was talking to me.
There are many lakes and ponds in this area of the mountains. When was the last time you heard frogs?
I heard an entire symphony of frogs today. It was a delightul, happy sound that took me back to my childhood. I miss frogs. Where did they all go?
This is what most of my day looked like. I had my head in the clouds - literally.
I saw lots of old evergreens with their soft, wispy needles. It smelled wonderful here in the forest.
I had a fairly easy day of it - 14.9 miles. I was pretty peppy and made great time, arriving in Boissezon about 1:45. Pretty quick since I didn't start on the trail until about 8:45.
I am staying at this little cottage. named La Reverie complete with a kitchen...
and the most adorable 2nd floor bedroom. That is the whole cottage excpt for a tiny bathroom just off the kitchen. I have a day off tomorrow so this is a good place to spend it except for the weak internet and the fact that there is no market in town. Such a small problem to have. This will make me rest. LOL
It took me over an hour to download these few photos. The internet is not good here. So I bid you au revoir.
