What an incredible, wonderful, strenuous day in-between burst of should drenching rain. Today was absolutely the top of the world. It started with a big and I mean steep climb. Thought I would never make it to the top. It was raining but when I got to the top it quit raining and I had the most beautiful vistas.
Then I thought I was going to be going down since I was at the top of the world but I wasn’t quite there yet. I went down slightly and rounded a corner and there was some more up. Unfortunately, after I had taken off my rain gear the rain started back and when I got to the top, I was literally surrounded by the raining cloud.
It is really hard to eat and drink when it is raining. Finally the rain stopped again and I sat down to eat and had no more than about four bites of my roasted chicken (left over from last night) when it started to rain again. I quick threw everything in my back pack and headed on. It was a shame I was on top of a mountain ridge in the tiniest little village. It was quite the scenic spot and I had four chickens for company.
A little later, I took my rain gear off but decided not to finish my lunch because I had between two and three miles left to go and I thought I would just finish my lunch at the hotel. I was getting pretty hungry! I didn’t get vey far this time and the sky opened up and then I couldn’t find my hotel. Really frustrating when it is raining because there is no one out to ask! I am staying in a charming B & B with very modern decor rooms and slanted ceilings. I finally wolfed down my lunch and then headed to a bar because the wifi in the hotel is very week. My only complaint about my hotel is that it has a toilet lid like a snapping turtle. There isn’t a human on earth who could raise the lid up and sit down before it snaps shut. It is a toss-up over whether you should try to sit really quickly or wedge your fanny in-between and schooch onto the seat. It is like something from candid camera. Must have been invented by someone who hated seeing the toilet lid up!
