O Cadavo Baleira to Lugo

Hola from Sunny Spain!  This was a much easier day But it turned out to be 19.2 miles!  We had two medium severe uphills and some downhill but mostly it was through lush farmlands.  I will tell you that my dogs are barking.  It has been a tough four days.

There was only one place for the entire journey to stop for a coca-cola light and this tree was at the edge of the hamlet we stopped at.  How sad that someone would kill the oldest chestnut tree.

There were many wide trails which was nice because I got to walk side by side with Dennis and we had a lot to catch up on.

There was one section of trail that Dennis put on his ipod and bolted ahead.  He had to music from Rocky downloaded.  Unfortunately, in his triumphant revelry, he missed a waymarker and I had to run to catch him.  Not my favorite thing to do on fourteen mile feet.  It didn't take us too far out of the way.

Look at this cute bunny!  I scratched his nose.  He was so friendly.  I think he was lonely because his only playmates were chickens.  Unfortunately, I didn't have any carrots to feed him.

I have seen these plants all over Spain (the ones above).  A Hershey kiss to anyone who can tell me what they are.  I have been trying to find out since my first Camino.  They grow to about five feet tall.

Dennis and I both loved this flower that was growing on a fence.  There are so many pretty flowers in Spain.

This whole area today was agricultural.  It was a valley with rich fertile soil.  We saw lots of men harvesting potatoes by hand and many tractors plowing the fields.  Pumpkins must grow really well here because we saw lots of patches.  And there must be a million apple trees and they are just getting ripe.

Just another reminder that the pilgrim shells are very popular....evidently all the way to the grave.

We ended up in Lugo (where we were supposed to be) and had two Camino Angels.  After about twelve miles of no bars we stopped in the first bar we saw.  We ordered two coca-cola lights in the tall bottles over ice with lemon.  We decided the taste of these two cokes plus being able to sit down was practically orgasmic.  We were so lost in terms of finding our hotel.  I stopped the first guy who looked friendly and asked for directions and he was from London and lived here.  Hallelujah, he spoke cockney English.  He walked us for several blocks to show us and we still missed the hotel.  We asked another man and he walked us to the hotel.  I am telling you that the Spanish people are the best.

So we have a day off tomorrow so you may or maynot hear from me.  Vaya con dios!
