At risk of driving you crazy over beans...I had the best dinner. I went to a very nice restaurant and ordered the Fabada Asturias. This time it came in a kettle with enough beans to feed two or three people and was served with a long narrow plate of sausages. This was even better than last night and was actually a tiny bit cheaper. It is all in the broth of stock. The broth is slightly smokey and yet light and ever so faintly of tomatoes and onions. Like nothing I have ever had before. I bought some of the dried beans to bring home. I am determined to recreate the famous Spanish Fabada.
It is off tomorrow for the first day on the trail. The backpack is packed (mostly) and the wake up call is in. I saw quite a few peregrinos in the town today so I don't think I will be alone on the trail. Adios until mañana!
