San Quirico D'Orcia to a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere!

This is my ever so gracious hostess for the past two nights.  She was ever so nice.  I have been staying in a wonderful Bed and Breakfast.

The views today were spectacular!

Yes I did stop and smell the roses.  There was an incredible rose garden to the left of this photo.

Coming through a small village...the only one of the day.

I thought this was a most unusual marker.

Miles and miles of vineyards with the mountains in the background.

Believe it or not...I hiked all the way up to that structure on top of the mountain.

This photo is just for my friend Pami!  He was quite the friendly fellow! And brayed like the mule he was when I didn't give him anything to eat.

A bit fuzzy of the old castle remains you saw from a distance.

I thought this was wildly funny..Pit of pauses and there were two picnic tables nearby.

This was a tomato plant.

More vistas...look at the little lake.  It was quite the challenging day of 11.8 as you can see by the photos.  I am staying at a farm house on top of the world.  It has a 360 degree vista.  I was waiting for the sun to change to take so photos but now it is raining and the wind is practically howling. The good news is that it didn't rain on me all day but it sure looked threatening. I risked life and limb to close the shutters on the one window in my farmhouse room.  The wind tore it out of my hands and I had already climbed up about an eight foot wall and balanced myself precariously on the window sill.  I was not strong enough to close it with the wind pulling against me.  Getting down was even more of a challenge.  About ten minutes later, the wind changed and slammed it shut.  I quickly climbed back up and was able to latch it.  Whew!

You will have to wait until tomorrow to see some photos of the farm house!  Caio!
