I am not big enough to fill these Peregrino shoes.
Another Santiago along "The Way".
Today was the grand symphony of nature. To the left the grasshoppers were playing the melody on their legs of string while the frogs were keeping pace with the range of tubas. To the right the cuckoo bird was maintaining the beat with rhythmic consistency and the little finches sounded like ping of tiny triangles. Rounding out the percussion section were the storks with the clacking of their timpani drum beaks. Sounds this beautiful could only come from a well orchestrated ensemble of musicians.. I wondered how much fun Teddy would have had from the rostrum.
Thought his little outhouse door at a alburgue was cute. Dennis and I stopped for a much needed Coca-cola zero.
Nothing like Spanish farmer humor. I don't know if it scared any crows away but it made us laugh.
Stork in flight.
This is the Templar Church of Santa Maria la Virgin in Villalcázar de Sirga.
Although a little hard to make out, the altar is dedicated to the life of Saint James (Santiago)
Dennis decided to dine with Santiago outside the church while I went in and said my prayers. I also got a stamp for my credential book.
Ahhhhh...finally the destination town of Carrión de los Contes and St James welcomed us. I have been desperate to find a bigger grocery store for gluten free bread and finally the town with a bigger supermercado and it was closed. HOLIDAY! Darn it. Oh, well, the good lord will provide. It is said that if you ask on the Camino, it will happen.
