Monterriggoni to Siena

Dennis and I both think that the time at the winery might be the highlight of all the wonderful things on this tour.  This photo is looking back at Monteriggioni.

We have seen so many of these cute little trucks, usually being driven by someone who barely fits into them.

Topiary?

Such a beautiful mile marker (Or should I say kilometer marking?)

These are the beautiful gates into Siena.  Gosh, what a day.  We actually made it without getting lost.  The total for the day was 15.5.  What an amazing change of weather.  It has been 90 and suddenly today it was 50 degrees.  And the wind was blowing up a gale. We did not have one single stop for a coca-cola light all day.  It was a good thing that I saved two slices of pizza from a couple of days ago or we would have been boinking for lack of fuel.We just kept walking and walking.  It was very steep but we were so ecstatic about the cooler weather that we barely noticed.   Tonight is supposed to be forty degrees.

Dennis is sporting his sunglasses with the tape holding them together.  I kept laughing that people were going to stop him to ask him to fix their computers but if they did we didn't understand enough Italian to recognize it.

So tomorrow will probably be full of photos about Siena.  What a beautiful town.  We have tomorrow off and it is much needed.  We are on tired legs of seven days in a row.  We usually take a day of at about day three or four.  So we are tired and ready for this break!

Caio for tonight!.
