Happy Easter
It was a good day - not as exciting as yesterday because I never got lost! Whoohoo.
Some up and some down but not unreasonable.
Had a little mud and a few creeks to cross.
I ate lunch sitting at the end of this little bridge.
For a long stretch, I walked along this large lake.
Then up the mountain through these moss-covered walkways.
The only time I came close to a wrong turn was in this village. There was a man at the bottom of the hill beneath this church, or Eglise as it is called in France. He pointed me in the right direction without me ever asking. And when I got to the top of the hill, this lovely woman pointed me in the correct direction for the trail. She said the church was open, but it wasn't. So many beautiful churches in France, but they always seem to be closed.
I thought this peaked roof in the middle of the woods was intriguing.
As the trail wound around the side, I realized it was a shelter. Pretty nice if you hit bad weather.
I am almost to La Salbetat-sur-Agout and I am like a horse to the barn. I loaded Uptown Funk on my IPOD which always reminds me of my friend, Kim Hocker who recommended the song to me several years ago. Happy Easter Kim! I practically danced into the village.
This Alburgue had a restaurant and it was a good one. My salad was delectible with crisp lettuce, slices of sweet tangerine and dressed with that white french dressing. It was topped with a piece of toast and warm goat cheese.
The owner of the Alburgue described my entree as a veal cutlet but it was more like a veal chop. So tender, slow cooked and topped with a brown sauce. Who cares about egg noodles and green beans when you have such a magnificient piece of meat. Quite a compliment from the girl who never met a vegetable she didn't like.
Dessert was the best chocolate mouse I have had on the trip.
So forgive my short blog today but I am pooped.
