Good afternoon for me and Good morning for you. Last night the temperature was -3 Centigrade which is basically 26 degrees.
As I was leaving tow I saw this cartoon advertisement for a wool factory. I thought it was so cute.
More trail art.
I wish all directional signs were as clear as this one.
Cute yard art.
Loved the shell but the bronze work in the upper left was beautiful.
Although today felt slightly warmer. I had numerous areas of ice on the road. Several of which I skated across and not in the most graceful manner. There was much swinging of arms and screeching but my posterior is still pristine. Small Miracle.
Quite a bit of snow. I am in the Margeride mountain chain in the Southeastern part of the Massif Central. It was formed in about the same time as the Alps.
When I started this morning, I wasn't sure I was going to make the first mile. My left knee has really been giving me a fit. About the halfway mark, it suddenly felt better. I don't know if it was just numb or it was actually better. I will say when I reached my hotel after 17.1 miles of struggle, I was very happy. What a difference in this Camino and the ones in Spain. In Spain, I almost always passed a bar where I could grab a bite, use the facilities or have a diet coke. Although I passed through several hamlets, there was never anywhere open. I felt like the twilight zone because I never saw people. Everything was always boarded up. I did have a small incident with farm dogs. One large shepherd came running out snapping and snarling followed by his crew of five dogs. I froze and didn't look him in the eyes. He walked around me growling and then stood barking. He even put his cold nose against the back of my leg. I said some frantic arrow prayers. Finally, he got bored and left. with his crew following him. I continued on my route with no problems from the gang. Whew, that was close.
Au revoir until tomorrow!
Oh my!
